Project Introduction
Harmony was an exploratory smart home design project envisioning a future where IoT devices are integral to daily life. The objective was to design digital yet highly physical and personalized products for a hypothetical family. Each team's product needed to collaborate with devices designed by other groups. This project focused on experimenting with new technology, resulting in the creation of a smart amulet for the family's twins, connecting them to the home's systems in an artful, non-display-based way.
Project Vision
As AI potentially takes over future planning, we worried smart tech might neglect crucial social aspects, prompting us to explore designs restoring the human touch. Recognizing technology's isolating potential, we aimed to bring families back together through engaging, interactive products tailored to diverse planning styles. Harmony achieves this via connected personal devices that guide families through shared activities and chores.
